Quick little post about yesterday. We were supposed to get each other gifts for the cruise since it's rapidly approaching. That ended up not happening but I still did manage to get him something cruise related for Justin's stocking!

Grandeur of the Seas Facebook Group

I mentioned in a previous post yesterday about a great Facebook group for Royal Caribbean cruisers. I also joined a group specifically for the ship were going on, Grandeur of the Seas. I don't post in this one as often but its great to see other peoples trips. Especially when you'll be boarding the ship in only a matter of months!

There's a really useful and friendly group called the "Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society" on Facebook. It's a community of cruisers young and old from around the world. I added Justin to the group and he's had fun browsing through the group when at work. He'd rather be on the cruise then work! It's definitly been a useful group to get answers from with a personal touch and experience.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

With all these weather posts lately, you would think I'm running a weather blog! In a way I feel like the weather is just as an important factor in this whole experience. One of the factors in booking our cruise when we did was because it would be mid winter and once we got back from it, the weather would be getting warmer. It also means when we're counting down the days to the cruise we have more to look forward to when we're super cold and tired from shoveling!

Anyways, another snowfall is upon us. It's recently been very cold with the days temps plunging into thirty below. Tomorrow we're getting snow. Roughly four to seven inches before it changes over to rain. Another messy mix! Will be a pain to shovel. On Sunday we'll be getting rain with a high in the upper 30's, low 40's. Maine weather is so bipolar!

Oh Baby It's Cold Outside

We had another snowfall a few days ago. This time schools were closed statewide and it turned into a rainy, slushy mix. Near sundown it started to the temperatures dropped and the mixture began to freeze. It's been getting colder recently, some days more then others. I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a post on the wind forecast for this coming Friday. I'm waiting more and more anxiously for our cruise!

Cabin 3109

Cabin 3109 will be our new home for nine nights in the end of February, early March. The room is on Deck 3 and from looking at the deck plans, right below the main dining room. I'm hoping that wont be a bad thing when it comes time to taking a nap or while we try to unwind from the day. We picked an Interior Stateroom because it was the cheapest rate. Besides, we rarely will be in the cabin because of all the fun onboard and in port! From the description the room is 136 square feet big. Your provided with two twin beds which can combine into a Royal King. We clicked this option afterwards in our planner. You also have a very tiny (from the pictures we've seen) bathroom. The room also includes a mini safe, vanity area, hairdryer, radio, telephone and closed circuit television. Like I said earlier, we don't plan on spending much time in our rooms. When we do it looks like we'll have plenty of entertainment in a decent sized cabin. I'll do a future post on the cabin once we board the ship.

Bring on the Cruise! First snowfall!

Today was our first "real" snowfall. I say real because this storm actually accumulated to a few inches and left me shoveling both at work and once I got home. The cold temps and snow definitly make me wish I was in the Bahamas right now! However this definitly does help give us that holiday feeling this time of year. I actually managed to get Christmas music on the radio at work and it managed to stay on for about four hours! Personal victory for me today! We probably got 3 inches from this storm. I wonder how much we'll have by the cruise? One can only imagine...
